Over 2000 bolts of “quilt” quality fabric, embroidery patterns, books, and tools. Our customers call us the "Happy Fabric Shop". We carry all your needs and wants for stitching and quilting. Featuring quilt-quality fabrics from Quilting Treasures, Robert Kaufman, Elizabeth’s Studio, Timeless Treasures, Blank, Windham, In The Beginning, Moda, and more.

Hand embroidery and Redwork started us on our way to an exciting quilt shop. We’re a small-town, family-run business located in the Sierra Nevada Mountain Range, in the Plumas National Forest, about 45 minutes from either Truckee, Ca or Reno, NV. We cater to the vast number of Quilters all around us. We offer lots of one-on-one time.  A social room is available for small groups to use for gatherings, stitching, learning, laughing, sharing and eating.  We also own the Sleepy Pines Motel, so lodging is available for overnighters and retreats. And we can often be found at quilt shows from Utah, Colorado, Nevada, Idaho, Washington, Oregon, and California.

We’ve been here since 1992. The proprietors, Keith & Susan Morrison, their children, Audrey, Kathy, and son-in-law Todd all participate. For information about staying at our motel, please visit

We’re not hard to find. Come in. You will be amazed.

When life hands you scraps…

As we all know, life sometimes gets in the way of what we want to do. You do what you have to do. Unfortunately, we will have some irregular shop hours for the next month or so. Perhaps more. Hopefully less.

In the meantime, if you’re making a special trip to come see us, a visit we’re always grateful for, we’d recommend you call us the day of your trip and check our hours. We will have to close some of the time over the next several weeks.

Just for those of you who want to know…Susan took a fall about the second week of April, and while she’s recovering nicely, she did injure her hip and is having physical therapy to get her back up and running (as usual). And, at the same time, Kathy has a health issue for which she’ll have surgery, and some follow up treatment. So, your thoughts and prayers are appreciated.

We’d let Keith open the shop, but we’re afraid he’d give it all away for free.

We want to thank many of our friends, such as Leanne, Christian, Donna, and several more (you know who you are), for all of their help in this trying time.

Keep calm, and grab the seam ripper.
